TRACK FIXED GEAR BIKE FIXIE SINGLE SPEED ROAD BIKE is a great starter bike for those interested in trying a single speed or fixed gear bike (the flip-flop hub allows for both). Its chromoly frame is pretty well constructed with decent welds and is ideal considering its price. The headset, rims, and freewheel are also perfectly serviceable. The non-branded components are a bit of a mixed bag though. The pedals, saddle, handlebars and brakes feel cheap, and will probably all require an upgrade at some point over the life of the bike. Despite this, they are functional out of the box and will get you from point A to point B without failing and killing you.

Buy a proper multi-speed bicycle. Can't really travel anywhere on a fixed gear bike. BMX bikes are the worst for traveling.

Can't go anywhere on a long board.

I have bicycled in 17 states and Ontario Canada. Rode from Seattle to San Francisco. Not possible with fixed gear or long board.

For fun, the longboard. Longboarding will give you a rush bombing parking garages or hills, but is not as efficient for transportation.

For transportation, the fixie. Fixies are fun to use as tranportation, but cost more and are larger.

If you want something to take you places get a bike, but if you want to travel in style, do tricks, and have fun, definitely get a longboard, nothing beats it.

Oh yeah, and if you get a lb, definitely get the bones reds(their the best).
