What Pakistan tested was not an ICBM.

It was "a medium-range cruise missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads" - http://presstv.com/detail/207354.html

They're two totally different types of missile.

ICBM's launch into space, let the Earth rotation carry them over their target, then drop their warheads from orbit to ruin somebody's sunny day with mushroom clouds.

    Link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercontinental_ball...

The US only needs a handful of its ICBMs to vaporize Pakistan.

    For example:

"One Peacekeeper can hold up to 10 nuclear warheads, each independently targeted. Were the warheads armed with a nuclear payload, each would carry with it the explosive power of twenty-five Hiroshima-sized weapons."

    Link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Peacekeeper-miss...

Pakistan has no defence against orbital bombardment by nuclear warheads.

Whatever protection it thinks a puny cruise missile gives it is illusory.

What part of ICBM don't you understand?

700 km range in a "terrain hugging" cruse missile is hardly "intercontinental" and it sure ain't "ballistic" and being an air breather, it hardly qualifies as a "missile"

It sounds like Pakistan bought some tech from Russia, who has had a bird like this for over 10 years

Whatever the case, please remember the conversation between Kelly Johnson and Ben Rich

"If missiles were as good and and accurate as they claim, they would be called hittles"

I'm not running out and digging a bomb shelter just yet

A cruise missile flies like a plane. that's continually powered and guided in the time of that's entire flight. it could fly low, under radar (or it could fly severe, in the event that they desire to try this.) A ballistic missile flies like a rock -- that's released up severe by way of that's rocket, yet then the rocket runs out and it often isn't guided anymore then that's only as much as inertia and gravity to get it to that's objective. It could fly severe -- if no longer, it won't flow very far as quickly as the rocket runs out.

An unstable country, with an unstable government, an unstable population, an unstable economy, in an unstable region and an unstable military......fantastic!

Just one more step up the ladder to a nuclear nightmare...and Pakistan makes it's self an even bigger target!

It's just further confirmation of a power shift...

USA is still down-sizing its defences and will do so even more once the military budget cuts kick-in...
