A week maximum. Most go home earlier depending on your overall fitness and age. After a bit of recuperation at home, a month or so of bed and then slow walks around the house and the around the block with a cane, half days at work, etc, you'll be up and at 'em again. And unless your hip replacement is recalled, like the DePuy hip replacement was, you should be good to go for another twenty to twenty-five years. It's really not a bad deal at all. You can get more about the Dupuy hip recall at http://hip-recalls.info
Good luck with the operation.
