Equity Analysis: Strategic Analysis?

Asked something similar a while back with no decent answers.

My understanding of how the strategic analysis process fits in is:

Strategic Analysis --> Key drivers and issues --> Valuation

Besides SWOT and Porter's 5 forces which i've heard is far too simplistic to use in a professional context.. what do equity analysts look at when analyzing the firm?

You can look as well for moats (competitive advantages)

    Four characteristics can create moats:

    -Intangible assets

    -switching costs

    -Network economics

    -Cost advantages

Look for Pat Dorsey's books on it.

Yep SWOT is problem-unfastened stuff, young infants play. First, look into markets that are increasing. detect companies in that marketplace, elementary strengths of the corporation (marketplace share, products, profitability, innovation, reasons to purchase, economic potential, return on fairness, leverage, unfastened funds bypass, executives and repayment), then technical components.
