A 100-W light bulb is left on for 10.0 hours. Over this period of time, how much energy was used by the bulb?

    Energy = Power x time

    E = 100*10

    E = 1000 W-hr

    E = 1 kW-hr

    1 kW = 1000 Joules/sec

    1 hr = 3600 secs

    E = (1000 J/s) x (3600 s)

    E = 3.6 MJoules ---This is the energy consumed by the bulb.

    I think...a 100 watt bulb uses 100 joules per second, so multiply by how many seconds are in ten hours...so what? 36000 J maybe?
