What are my chances of becoming a Hollywood actress if I move to LA, get an agent and get acting classes?

Is it a reasonable dream or still highly unlikely?

well after the first year if you haven't had some success you should step back and reevaluate your life so that you still will do something you love but not struggle in life

An estimated 100,000 people a year move to Los Angeles hoping to make it in the industry. The same number end up leaving LA every year because they didn't make it

As another poster pointed out, your chances are higher than if you never tried, but the competition is fierce and very few people ever make it. LA is full of waiters, caterers, porn stars, bartenders, retail employers, makeup counter employees, etc who all expected to make it as a serious actor and it never happened

It's a brutal business even if you do have some success. I have a good friend in LA who has been acting on screen since he was 13 years old (he's 40 now) and still has never made it big. You would recognize his face as he's been in films with everyone from Christian Bale to Tom Hanks to Drew Barrymore and was one of the leads in a series that ran on WB for a season, but he even goes for 1-2 year stretches without a single acting job. He did not get a single acting job in 2006 or 2007, then had 7 bit parts in 2008, 2 short films in 2009 and no jobs in 2010 and in 2011 has only done one made for TV movie. This is someone with a great agent, tons of connections, was engaged to a well-known actress, is actually liked by people in the industry as he's a really nice guy, and he still struggles to get work. It's a tough business and you have to get into it because you LOVE acting and can't imagine doing anything else - not because you want to become rich and famous

In my honest opinion, I believe that you can achieve it through 2 things. 1) Always stand out from all the other actors and actresses. Actors and actresses that blend in a crowd will not even be given a glance at. But if you stand out in a way that catches their attention in a good way, your halfway there. 2) Never show slack or give up. Actors or actresses that are dedicated, and always there to aid 24/7 really shows your compassion for acting. But that's my opinion, good luck! :)

you progression to Hollywood and get a job as a waitress or a receptionist. there are various waitresses in Hollywood. once you're working you bypass to audition after audition, and need that finally you get picked up for something that does nicely so which you would be able to stop your waitressing activity. ideally, you might have some adventure under your belt on your abode city, community theater, to placed on your resume for once you bypass on your auditions. solid luck!

It's unlikely because you will be competing with hundreds of people with experience who possibly have a background in commercials, plays, etc.

    Your chances are minute.

But slightly better than if you don't do any of that.
