Had potential to be great. Graphics are good, very detailed (freaking seeing Markov get thrown through his windshield of his cockpit was Epic to see when I shot him down in last mission). The story was good, had meaning, though didn't give the flavor of the mysterious ace pilot but it was still great.
Gameplay was fast pace and good. Missile locks regain most of its glory from AC6 (AC6 had the worst missile lock attacks ever in AC), but this game lost its gun system, where it follows how to shoot before to hit target, it only stays straight unless you go into DFM. As of DFM ASM and Counter Maneuvers those were great concepts, to show epic combat, but it was too scripted. Really on some targets you can hit them with 100 missiles and they won't die until a scene happens, which seems dumb. Also they made the game push into more Arcade then flight sim. Also adding the helicopters into the scene didn't really feel right, though it was cool, but it felt outplace to be in a jet fighter game.
For music, it was epic, lots of tunes that made you blood pumping and just want to rock out especially "Gotta Stay Fly" and its instrumental form "Fighter". Though their were a lot of out of place songs as well, which sorta sounded bad, but still over all it was epic
So my scoring
Gameplay 5/10 (just very arcade like, didn't suite my flavor of combat, and no Free Flight I mean I wanted to fly around DC and Miami with out my tail getting blown off but I can't....)
So overall it is a 8/10 has some flaws in gameplay but everything else checks out high to make it good
