How do you think China would react if N. Korea attacked S. Korea?
If lets say, North korea attacked the south and the US was called into the war by the south (wich we would do inevitabley) do you think China would just sit back and watch one of their greatest allies vanish from this earth or do you think there would be a response from China?

China would take the opportunity to step up on the world stage.
They would invade North Korea themselves, claim they are doing for the UN, then rebuild North Korea again and put someone in power who is under their control.
China does not consider North Korea to one of their greatest allies. Yes they exploit North Korea's shinanigans, partly to keep control of the situation and partly to edge out US influence in the region. They actually have a lot of issues with North Korea; border issues, refugee issues, political issues. China wants North Korea there because they like the buffer between them and South Korea. It also gives them a buffer on a historical avenue of invasion into China. Overall, China wants the status quo to be maintained.
By invading North Korea, they get to claim responsibility for ending a conflict. They win favor with South Korea and possibly Japan. They get to look like the good guys on the world stage. They win influence at the UN. They make sure North Korea does not unite with South Korea.
Overall, China does not want war. They especially do not want it in Korea on their doorstep.
On the other hand, if it was South Korea or the US that attacked North Korea (it would never happen, but if it did), then China would support North Korea.

I'd think that china would not actually side with north Korea , but try to stop them in a "neutral" way as u stated N. Korea is one of china's allies but with N.Korea's instability and empirically proven to have weapons grade plutonium, and all the conflicts of US troops that are already in South Korea, hegemony, mass extinction, all that crap, N. Korea better have a good reason to attack otherwise it would turn into a global nuclear warSource(s): This was part of last year's policy debate topic... i just didn't go in depth due to time constraints lol

US wouldn't do anything. The DPRK already lobbed artillery shells and allegedly sunk South Korean warships.
China? They wouldn't like that, it hurts business. They might supply NK with arms but they probably wouldn't send in troops to support them like they did last time. It would hurt business with America and they don't want that. They don't want to see the DPRK fall but they probably wouldn't protect them.
The DPRK wouldn't ever wage a full scale war against the South. They know what they can get away with and what they can't.

That's the million dollar question.
My guess is set up a cordon sanitaire on the border to prevent refugees from streaming across, and sending forces south into the DPRK to seize key infrastructure and economic facilities (eg mines, ports, etc).
Nothing productive, in other words.Source(s): Active-duty Navy

there would have to be some sort of response by China, they are allied with NK. I think for this reason China would put enough heat on NK to keep them from attacking SK unless there was a fallout between China and the US.

China would sit back and see how N. Korea does against the US. If they think they need help, China would immediately send troops. If not, China being as selfish as they are, would let N. Korea do all the fighting they could.

China is getting more and more pissed at north korea, so north korea would die.

They would most likely assist them, because of their relationship (Only country that communicates with N.Korean is China).Source(s): Korean School
