what are the phisical charicteristics associated with mara in both buddhist art and scripture?

i am aware that mara is not a physical being, but a representation of our desire. the reason i ask is because i am working on a painting that will depict his struggle with the buddha before the buddhas inlightenment. i am not sure which imbodiement i will use (human on eliphant, deamon, or the other that i cannot recal) so all the details you can provide will be most appreciated. thank you. XD

Update:

i appologize for my misspelling. thank you. XD

Just use your imagination. Although there is a lot of symbolism in buddhist art it can also be inspirational too e.g zen art.
