Are There Any Good, Free Resume Makers?

I'm just a little short on money on my credit card and i was wandering if there are any free resume makers or builders online that anyone knows of. It'll be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Whether you are fresh out of school, making a career move or just looking for work, one of the first things you have to do is create a resume. A resume should clearly demonstrate your experience and skills. A good resume will prompt a prospective employer to call you for an interview. Writing a general resume is simple using the template in MS Word.

    Difficulty: Moderately Easy

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    Microsoft Word

    1

Open Microsoft Word. In the sidebar, you will see a list of options listed under "New Documents."

    2

Click on "General Templates" under the subheading of "New form template."

    3

Look at your options in the pop-up window. Click on the "Other Documents" tab. You will see several choices of different resume styles and other documents.

    4

Choose "Professional Resume" and then press "OK." This will create a resume template within a Microsoft Word document.

    5

Click on the top of the document and type in your address, phone number and email address as indicated. Change the name on the top of the resume to your name.

    6

Type your "Objective" where indicated. Your objective should be two or three short sentences briefly stating which position you are looking for and why you are qualified.

    7

Fill in your work history in the "Experience" section. Be sure to include dates of employment, company name, location and job title.

    8

List your job responsibilities in the corresponding bullet points. Make your duties relevant to the job you are seeking.

    9

Write in your educational information. Include the name and location of the university, as well as the degree you received. You can delete the dates if you prefer.

    10

Use the interest section to include any clubs, affiliations or hobbies that may be relevant. Delete the section that says "Tips." It is for informational purposes only.

    11

Save the document to your hard drive and then print copies for distribution.

DON'T trust 'RESUMENOW.COM'. THEY WILL COME WITH DIFFERENT NAMES, BUT IN THE END, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU.
