What's the name of the book where a boy/man journeys through snow with only a dog/wolf and a little bird...?
I remember it was something about him being by himself with only a dog or wolf. Later in his journey though all the snow hazards, he befriends a little bird he finds by itself. He keeps the little bird (I believe a young quail) safe from all the cold weather in his coat, and I believe he sort of pampers it or takes well care of it. A very saddening part of the story was when he later watched life leave the little bird while in his hands T-T
I think he was like an Eskimo or something o.o

I think you are thinking of "Julie of the Wolves" by Jean Craighead George. The main character is a girl though. She gets lost in the wilderness, and a pack of wolves help her to survive. She finds a little bird and it becomes her pet.
