Do solid state relays need cooling?

I have a 25 amp solid state relay I'm installing in a kiln that will go up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The SSR will be mounted in a metal housing box a few inches from the outer surface of the kiln. The SSR will be mounted in a metal housing box a few inches from the outer surface of the kiln. I've seen some designs with a cooling fan aimed at the SSR and some designs without. Is the extra cooling for the SSR necessary? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
