Mother nature doesn't answer questions here anymore. So you just have to have some luck when you get here. Don't follow those weather reports on Thailand because it says it's going to rain every day everywhere. What I'm trying to say is no one can tell you what is going to happen the week you are here. A monsoon can move in and destroy your holiday, or it can be just the typical short period of heavy rain in the afternoon, or no rain at all.

First, it is safe to travel to Phuket. You will have typical weather for October.

When it rains in Thailand the rain does not fall everywhere at the same time. Also, for many areas, the rain stops falling in an hour or two. There are other beach areas that have less rain like Jomtien, Hua Hin and Koh Larn.

How is your budget? December will be the most expensive time of the year to travel. Hotels will more often be fully booked and at highest prices! But the weather in Phuket will be nicer. Millions of tourists visit every month of the year even during the rainy season. Many tourists prefer that time of year because it is cheaper. If you want to change months later in November will be nicer in many places if only beaches is a primary factor.

    Comments on Phuket weather.

There are other things to see besides beaches. Visit Bangkok, see Chiang Mai, take some tours. If it rains a little go into a mall and shop, stop in a restaurant or bar - usually the rain ends and everything is okay again.

    Good luck.

You can look at weather forecast to see the weather for the period you going to be there.

If the weather will be bad I don't think you'll enjoy the travel at all.
