Should I get a cat if i live out of state?

Ok so here's the thing, I am attending college in California but I live in Idaho and would like to get a cat. My apartment allows them. However, I don't know if it would be too stressful on the cat and on myself if I took it home with me every summer. I have read about the transporting animal into other states laws so I wouldn't smuggle it in. Still, I'm only thinking of what would be best for the cat. So should I? I would love to own one but I don't want to give it a bad life if it has to drive with me all the way to Idaho once a year. P.S. I have four cats at home and am not sure how they would react to it.

Its better not to get it, it might be stressful for that cat and also you. About the other cats they might not like the other cat much so its better just not to get one.
