If father was born in US, and he is on the birth certificate as the father, your child is a US citizen.

If father was born in US, and he is NOT on the birth certificate as the father, you need to find out if proof that he is the father, (through DNA testing,) can overcome this obstacle.

If father was NOT born a citizen of US, but is now a citizen, there is a requirement regarding how long he has lived in the US as a citizen.

Can't quite have a perfect answer, but you can safetly do so if he's not a citizen somewhere else. If he does, sorry he can't be. Hope this helps :)
