Endorphins cause the "freeze" or "Jelly" feeling when you are scared or nervous?

I was reading about them and it says they are basically your body creating a "pain killer". I was thinking it was maybe the tingle you get like when you get hit in the back by surprise?

All these things are happening at the same time: thoughts, feelings, chemical reactions. It's like the different tracks on a stereo recording.
