The product of two square roots is equal to the square root of the product. So: √3 x √8 = √(8 x 3) = √24 But you can simplify √24. Rewrite it as √24 = √(4 x 6) = √4 x √6 And √4 is just 2, so √4 x √6 = 2√6 Answer: 2√6 (3 + √7)^2 = 3^2 + 2(3)(√7) + (√7)^2 = 9 + 6√7 + 7 = 16 + 6√7 Answer: 16 + 6√7 √3 (5√3 - 2√6) = √3(5√3) - √3(2√6) = 5√(3 x 3) - 2√(3 x 6) = 5√9 - 2√18 = 5√9 - 2√(9 x 2) = 5√9 - 2(√9)(√2) = 5(3) - 2(3)(√2) = 15 - 6√2 Answer: 15 - 6√2
