Study abroad in France?

I really want to learn french so I'm thinking about studying abroad(high school exchange). I was wondering if I studied in France with full immersion how long would it take me to become fluent or even close to being fluent?

If you're starting from zero, with no French classes at all, it would probably take you about 2 years of full immersion to reach fluency as it's commonly defined. If you're starting with more significant knowledge (you've completed AP French, for example) it would likely take about a year.

However this really varies from person to person and by how hard you work, so it just depends.
