Easy math question, do you think you can solve it?

Government data show that 6% of the American population are at least 75 years of age and that about 51% are women.

We conclude that because about 3% of the population are women aged 75 or over.

Is this computation correct?

    .06 * .51 = .0306

    .06 * .49 = .0294

    probability that a person 75 years or older is a woman is 3.06%

    probability that a person 75 years or older is a man is 2.94%

    Yes. It's about 3%

    I would say 3.5% but don't listen to me because I really suck at math.
