Why do people complain of Mohammed marrying a young girl, when history is full of Christians doing the same?
In 1396, Richard II of England was joined in marriage to young Isabel of France, who had been 7 years old when their engagement was announced the previous year in Paris. Not only was there no uproar; there was considerable happiness expressed over the assumed probability that this marriage would end the Hundred Years War then in one of its periodic states of truce between the two kingdoms. Peace was to be ensured by joining together this man and this little girl in marriage.
Bianca of Savoy, Duchess of Milan was married aged 13 (1350), and aged 14 when she gave birth to her eldest son, Giangaleazzo (1351).
Theodora Comnena was aged 13 when she was married King Baldwin III of Jerusalem (1158).
Agnes of France was 12 when, widowed, she was married to Andronicus Comnenus, Byzantine Emperor (1182).
St Elizabeth of Portugal was aged 12 when she was married to King Denis of Portugal and gave birth to three children shortly thereafter.
Caterina Sforza was betrothed aged 9, married aged 14, and gave birth aged 15.
Lucrezia Borgia was married to her first husband aged 13 and bore a son within a few years.
The above are just a few examples of the culture of child marriage in Europe. And some Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints branch-offs are still doing it in America

The people who say things like this are ignorant and fear-based.
The Virgin Mary was 14 years old when she gave birth to Christ.
Marriage among young people was quite acceptable in those days, considering that people seldom lived to be even middle-aged.

One does hear people talking about Mohammed's "pedophilia" quite a lot on right-wing hate-radio.
But those ignoramuses are only reflecting the more general American obsession, going back only a few decades, for hunting and demonizing "child sex predators." The police industry in this country, backed by the religious right and even by some "liberal" crypto-nazi do-gooders, has for some time been stoking the fires of a War On Sex that is promising to become even bigger and more destructive than the War On Drugs has become over the past forty years.
Here's a great example that was just reported a few hours ago among the top news headlines on CNN.com.
A high-ranking U.S. government official in Florida has been arrested and may spent 20 years in prison and be subject to a lifetime of "monitoring" after a five-month-long investigation of him by the FBI concluded that he was in possession of four images "depicting" (?) a minor in a sexual situation.
What made the story newsworthy was that this federal official was the Chief of the Immigration and Customs Enforcment cops for all of South Florida, and he often spoke out about the need for law enforcement to eradicate all "child pornography" and to relentlessly pursue the evil men who look at such pictures. Sort of like Rush Limbaugh ranting about "drug abusers," and Jim Bakker denouncing "adulterers" and Larry Craig fighting those "sinful homosexuals."
But although I'm not fond of cops, especially ones who are such monsttrous hypocrits, I don't think ANYBODY should spend the rest of their life in prison because they looked at four pictures of an under-age girl. The War On Pedophilia is TOTALLY INSANE!

I don't recall anyone complaining about the age of the girl Mohammed married. I've heard a few (a very few) comment on this polygamy--but that is the culture and there was a whole convoluted reason for it.

I don't know, and I don't know why trolls who lose 32 points in 4 days keep trying to stir up animosity, either.

Whatever makes you think those people were Christians? Lots of people who claim to be Christians are, in fact, not. Going to a church doesn't make someone a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes him a car. To be a Christian, one must repent of sin, trust Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior who died for them and rose again, and determine to live for Him as best they can as outlined in God's Holy Word, the Bible.Source(s): The New Testament

I've never heard anybody ever complain about it. Why are you making such a big deal about it?
