Question :Why they had not won the contract? MatsPetersson arrived in Venezuela with his team of negotiators from Sweden. Theywere confident that they would win a contract to supply telecoms systems to alarge operator in Caracas. They flew in the night before and went into thenegotiation the next day. They know they had the right product at the rightprice and on the right delivery terms. They had sent the offer in advance andexpected the decision to be made during the negotiation. To their surprise, theVenezuelan customers listened and asked some questions and then said they wouldbe in touch. The next day the Swedish team flew home. Several weeks later theyheard indirectly they had not won the contract.
