how long does it take a team of 100 naval architects to design a military ship?
and if it takes a long time then what are ways to speed up the designing process

First off, fire about half the architects, and that should help speed things up. If you have that many Naval architects, something is wrong.
Average time from drawing board to IOC seems to be about 25 years or so.
What are ways of speeding up the process? Change the way we acquire systems.Source(s): Active-duty Navy

No time at all since there are no Navy architects. The Navy brass decides what they want a ship to do and then ask for bids from ship building companies . Usually , but not always , the lowest bid gets the contract to design and build they ship. This is pretty much the same answer I gave to this question a few days ago.

Use to be about 5 years ,, then 2 years,, now about 1 year . Since Technology is leading the World a lot ,, designing to make it all fit take a lot less time .
