Christmas party playlist?
I'm planning a Christmas party and want a GREAT, romantic, whimsical, dreamy playlist that will really set the holiday mood. I want to start compiling music now because the party will be 4-5 hours. I want to have a mixture of traditional Christmas carols, hymns, and Christmas love songs, etc., but I also want songs that are not necessarily Christmas-related, but have that same feel to them. Like a lot of Frank Sinatra does, as an example. The other type of actual Christmas-related songs, I've got those covered, but I need suggestions for as much great music as possible that gives that dreamy, romantic Christmas feel without necessarily being Christmas music. Thanks bunches!

It seems to me that you are looking for songs by what used to be called "crooners." I'd suggest songs by Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Perry Como, and Peggy Lee. For more modern songs in the idiom, Harry Connick, Jr., and the recordings Linda Ronstadt did with Nelson Riddle (Lush Life, What's New, and Round Midnight)

Here are some great CDs... check out the tracks, and download those that interest you:
As far as non-Christmas, search for "dinner party" or "romantic dinner" in music on Amazon. You'll find lots of options... you can buy there, or download on iTunes.Source(s): Ho Ho Ho!!!
