I say Magic Johnson. Basketball is a game of mismatches. Take advantage of the weakness of the other team.

Not only was Magic Johnson the greatest PG ever, but he was 8 inches taller than every other good PG in the league. Who can guard him? In the 12 years Magic was in the league (I don't count his post-aids, half-season comeback), Magic Johnson made the Finals 9 times. He won 5 championships during an era with amazing dynasties. Larry Bird's Celtics? 3 Hall of Famers, and that isn't including Danny Ainge (All-Star) and Cedrick Maxwell (Finals MVP winner). Then you got Isiah Thomas' Pistons (4 Hall of Famers), Moses Malone and Julius Erving's 76ers (who also had Mo Cheeks, 4x All-Star, and Andrew Toney, 2x All-Star)..

Magic was winning 5 championships in an era where you weren't suppose to win 5 championships. Jordan was awesome, but overhyped. Top 2 players ever.

    Magic Johnson

Jordan is the type of player though puts up amazing numbers his play style is reckless and simply CANNOT win high quality games without the right pieces. If you dont have a specific cast around Jordan than you'll fail every time against other great teams.

Magic Johnson on the other hand can fit into any team and IMPROVE them. You can place Magic on any team randomly and that team would make a deep playoff run. Magic Johnson's play style is simply more team efficient . Only reason MJ gets so much praise is cause all fans care about is the PPG stat

  • Jordan. I'll take Jordan's offense over Magic's offense. Jordan's career average is over 30 points per game and should be higher, considering he took two of his best years off, and came back to play two years with the Wizards. Magic's strength was his leadership on the court and his passing. I'd rather have Jordan's scoring (plus his good passing) than Magic's incredible passing (plus his underrated scoring).

I'd also take Jordan's defense over Magic's defense.

And for winning, yes, Magic won 5 titles against strong competition, but Magic had some halfway decent teammates, too. Two times out of those five, Magic wasn't even the finals MVP. That just goes to show how strong Magic's teammates were. In fact, I asked a question on here 9 months ago. Did Michael or Magic have better teammates? Here's the link:

They are both great player & of course have their pros & cons. Any answer can be right BUT i choose M23J because he was a beast & had a killer instinct like no other. Everyone brings that magic can play any position which is ok but he didn't couldn't dominate at ALL those positions. Consider this if he had to go up against someone & play defense he wouldn't fair to well cuz his defense wasn't good (he was a liability on defense) plus his legs were shaky already. MJ couldn't play all the positions but your *** wouldn't want to guard him & he was an excellent defender. Again both are great.

Unlike these bandwagon Heat fans, Im going to answer the question.

    Michael Jordan

If the Bulls and Lakers played without their 2 stars, I think Lakers would slaughter the Bulls but as long as Jordan is on the court he can prevent that.

Dumb question, they are completely different positions and player types. Magic is a passer, Jordan a scorer.

But if you had to choose you take Magic because he can play any position on the floor. Many forget his first finals when he rotated and played Center for the lakers to make sure they won the title.

Jordan could only play Guard. Magic could play any position and do it well.
