North Carolina is more cosmopolitan and is experiencing an economic boom in cities like Charlotte. Central North Carolina is home to many fine universities and colleges.

South Carolina keeps ending up in the news because of insane politicians who have been eating leaded paint chips in their breakfast cereal, but it also has nice beaches. SC is much more conservative, though NC is mostly conservative also, except for the research triangle.

North Carolina is more hilly and cooler in the summer, but freezing in the winter.

South Carolina has lower unemployment, and fewer Democrats

The south is generally more built up and has things to do. North Carolina, you drink Nyquil for fun.

well, it depends on WHERE you live, but overall... South Carolina is a little less rational and a little more crazy...

worse schools, worse average pay... but they all act like their state is the best in the world and there is this crazy state pride... which is only eclipsed in my experience by Texas state pride...

if you're moving from big city to big city, you won't notice too much difference overall... like Charlotte to Charleston or Winston to Columbia...

    EDIT:

    North Carolina unempoyment 10.1

    South Carolina unemployment 10.9

see it's just junk like that... people who are too stupid to know how bad their state is...

South is hotter. Couldn't even walk on the sand last time I went to Myrtle beach
