Spiritually Speaking: Is One Mosquito Changing Into Another Mosquito Proof of Evolution?

This was just posted as proof of macro-evolution by someone who seemed quite serious. Is that what is being taught in our schools? Or do they teach macro-evolution as unproven theory whereby one species changes into a different species? (for which there is zero evidence)

@john james - one mosquito changing into another mosquito is still of the mosquito species and does not give evidence to macro-evolution.

Update 2:

@barking toad - talkorgins? Sorry, that's a fail. And no wikipedia either.

Update 3:

@silver d - the Kaibab squirrel is a fine example of MICRO-evolution, which we can see in different dog breeds. They are still of the "dog" species just as the Kaibab squirrel is still a squirrel, but with cool markings.

Update 4:

@torpex20 - "there are over 3000 species of mosquito". Sorry, dude, but you don't get it. Come back when you can show me a mosquito that turned into a fly (or anything). Until then, a mosquito is still a mosquito.

Update 5:

I have renewed faith in our educational system because no one was willing to say (given all the information you needed) that one mosquito changing into another mosquito is proof of macro evolution.

The problem is with the classification system. It was flawed before I went to school and it is still flawed to this day. The system does not allow for subspecies or breed due to it's ambiguity as a definition. Until they define species properly they will always say new species of frog. Frog is the species.

A better way to understand species is the species canidae. The subspecies is what it is divided into then breed. Such as lupus, vulpini and such. Within those however breeds are the next step. No new species of dogs. Dog is the species or Cannis.

Listen assh*le. I'm getting pretty tired of you religious types trying to post questions where you "disprove" evolution based on some crap your pedophile minister told you right before he raped your butt. Get with the program, It is real. As real as sound waves (also a theory). Unless you have an advanced degree in genome research there is nothing you can conceive that could even begin to disprove evolution.

Macro-evolution is proven. You are just a fukking retard who thinks the universe is 6000 years old, and continues to do so in the face of overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary. Macro-evolution by definition takes longer than 6000 years.

A "grasshopper" changing into a mosquito over the course of millions of years is an example of macro-evolution.

Read a fukkin book, watch the science channel. Pull your head outta your *** and realize you sound like a complete fool every time you bring this up, and you make your religion as a whole look as though it is comprised of uneducated neanderthals.

If you REALLY wanted to know. This is the internet. You can educate yourself rather that have someone else do it for you.

But since you asked in the religion section and not the biology section, I can assume you have no intention of learning anything that goes against your religion, and are only looking for confirmation from other creationists.

Ah that tired old Micro/Macro argument. Here:

To add to silver d's whale and horse statement:

    Evolution of the whale:

    And the horse:

That would depend if it's a different species of mosquito or not.

The term "mosquito" is generic, and refers to several species.

Citation, please, as to which species you mean.

Here is a list of many species of mosquito. Are the ones you mean on this list?

This specifies that there are about 2,700 species of mosquitoes.

You still have not even specified whether or not you refer to a morphing of ONE mosquito or a breeding population evolving into another species. Can you clarify what you mean?

It wasn't one individual mosquito that itself changed species.

As soon as you can refute evolution without lying or entirely mispreresenting it, the world will definately want to know.

    until then, please grow up.

Evolution is as much an undeniable fact as the earth being spherical is a fact.

    - an insurmountable amount of evidence supports it in numerous varied fields of study

    - predictions can be made, only on the premise that it is true

    - if false, it would be very, very easy to falsify

the most ironic thing is, you think you're defending your religion, whereas you actually do it a massive disservice by denying demonstrable reality so ignorantly and arrogantly.

    EDIT 2

a mosquito turning into a fly would FALSIFY evolution, not prove it.

only by having some twisted idea of evolution in your mind can you refute it.

you might want to ask yourself why...

Source(s): EDIT there are over 3000 species of mosquito, google is your friend. You could have saved yourself some embarassement by reading my response to your last post on someone elses question, but no, instead you dug yourself further into your hole of blatant ignorance of biology.

ZERO EVIDENCE? Funny how everyone who has actually taken the time to learn about the very basics of evolution can't deny it. I hope you don't reproduce.

By the way, I didn't really understand the mosquito thing. Can you post a link?

We can't comment unless we know EXACTLY what you are talking about.

    You still haven't explained.

What species of mosquito changed into what other species, and under what circumstances? Why a mosqito?

'Mosquito' is not a species - there are 3500 species of mosquito.

I think you had better study a taxonomy of the animal kingdom in order to understand the concept of species, families, etc.

Macroevolution has been shown to occur.

Edit: Both whales and horses evolved from dog-like animals...it's shown in the fossil record.

Correction, for which there is tons of evidence.
