Can you take prenatal vitamins even if you aren't pregnant?

I've heard they can help keep your hair & nails healthy.

Will they make your hair grow faster? That's what everyone has told me.

Are there negative reprecussions to taking them if you aren't pregnant and aren't trying to conceive?

I don't take any other vitamins currently.

See, the whole point of prenatal vitamins is to supply you with certain vitamins and nutrients that your body needs more of during pregnancy. But when not pregnant, these vitamins, since you will be receiving more vitamins and nutrients than you need, can be harmful. I've put an article below that goes over all the side effects for women who are not pregnant and decide to take prenatal vitamins.
