How does Entropy effect the universe and its fate?

A question has popped up, and that it, how exactly does Entropy effect the known universe today, and what will be the resulting fate in the future? I understand that it is a thermodynamic property, but im more interested in how this effects the universe, and would like to know the result the universe will endure due to this law.

Entropy is measure of disorder. The universe is growing older, colder, and more disordered as time goes by.

there is too much emphasis on the physical solution.. the universe is a combined of the physical and the non-physical...it will end when it ends...
