Sadly, yes, eight children were killed on 9/11. All of them were passengers on the planes- five of them were on board American 77 which hit the Pentagon, and three were on board United 175 which struck the south tower of the World Trade Center.
On board Flight 77 were:
Asia Cottom, 11, of Washington, DC
Rodney Dickens, 11, of Washington, DC
Bernard Brown II, 11, of Washington, DC
Zoe Falkenberg, 8, and Dana Falkenberg, 3, of University Park, MD
The three 11-year-olds were all 6th grade students from various schools selected to go on a school trip to the Channel Islands, and were on their way there with teacher chaperones (I know one of the teachers was named Sarah Clark). The Falkenberg sisters were traveling with their parents (Leslie Whittington and Charles Falkenberg), on their way to Los Angeles to catch another plane to Australia, were they were planning on moving to temporarily for their mother’s job.
On United 175:
Juliana McCourt, 4, of New London, CT
David Gamboa-Brandhorst, 3, of Los Angeles, CA
Christine Hanson, 2, of Groton, MA
Juliana was traveling with her mother (Ruth McCourt) and they planned on going to Disneyland. David was on his way back home from visiting a friend in Maine with his adoptive fathers (Dan Brandhorst and Ron Gamboa). Christine was with her parents (Peter and Sue Hanson) and they were on their way to visit family and go to Disneyland.
RIP to these innocent angels whose lives were cut so short. :( And RIP to all the other victims as well.
