So i heard that the president passed a law that says immigrants who aren't a threat to the U.S wouldn't get deported, so is that true? if you know more about this law tell me all.

An immigration reform organization says a lawsuit filed against the state of New Mexico by amnesty advocates illustrates that illegal immigrants have more legal rights than American citizens.
The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) wants to block New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez's (R) attempt to require foreign-born state driver's license holders to show proof of their legal residence. The suit was filed on behalf of a group of New Mexico legislators and residents, who claim the governor is trying to usurp the power of the legislature.
"MALDEF has applauded President Obama stepping in and usurping legislative authority when he declared what is essentially amnesty for millions of illegal aliens," accounts Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). "So MALDEF only seems to be concerned about [this] constitutional separation of powers when it adversely affects illegal immigrants. When it benefits illegal immigrants, they don't seem to have any problem with the principle at all."
And he points out that illegal aliens can sue for their "rights," while ordinary Americans cannot.
"The courts have decided that simply being a member of American society" is enough for an individual to enjoy U.S. rights, "and the president implements a policy that is not beneficial to the American people. [But] you have to be able to demonstrate that you were adversely affected -- not that society in general was adversely affected" by the decision, the FAIR spokesman explains.
So Mehlman concludes that something is fundamentally wrong with a judicial process that routinely allows illegal aliens and their advocates access to the courts, while American citizens are denied standing to sue to prevent implementation of policies that harm their interests.
Thats Obama's idea of law and order

that's not a new law. It's an executive order to focus on those illegal aliens first that have committed crimes. Last year Obama deported a record number of 360,000 people, all of which has cost us, the taxpayers, a lot of money. Considering that there are an estimated 11,000,000 illegal aliens in the U.S. it's best for all of us to get rid of the bad guys first before we deport kids who are in school. There's only so much ICE can do with a limited amount of agents and a limited amount of money.

The President can't make immigration laws on his own.
All Obama did was to order, as head of the Executive Branch, that priority be given to deporting the immigrants who are the most dangerous, such as convicted criminals. Others will still get deported if they are caught.

there is not law , Obama asked his people from ICE to prioritize due to the fact than there is not enough money for them , he did sent a letter to them about certain criteria which is only LOGICAL to use such as focusing in gangs and dangerous people , the kind of people we all want to get rid of as soon as possible , that is what the so called "law" is . either way i believe than since Osama bin ladden death the US should had comeback to what the plan for immigration was before the 9/11 attacks , time to stop the scare tactics of some . the US will be a much better place if the undocumented immigrants are allowed to get residency , it only makes sense since the hispanics are the group which has been adding most of the new jobs for a really long while .Source(s): Obama does not do laws , people like this one does : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aHU-yUl3jY&feature...

It isn't a law.Obama wants ICE to focus on illegals that are a threat to Americans.Really a stupid thing to do, as we have open borders and any one of them could be a threat to us here. Some here say its Obama saving us tax payers money by doing this but in reality we already take care of these people and it would be better for us tax payers if we would get these people off of the govt tit.And think of the jobs that would open up for people that need these jobs.We could make these jobs available to people that cant find a job and also to those that are on welfare so they are a least giving something back to the tax payers that provide this money to them. But what can we expect from a man that has illegal family here in the USA himself.

Our president cannot pass laws, much to his chagrin. He is simply disobeying his mandate to enforce the existing laws.
