does anybody have good idea of any fictional books about different elements of ancient rome?

i have ideas for books i want to write just need to research what has been done

    Lots! This is a popular period for fiction. Ones I can think of:

    Colleen McCullogh wrote an excellent series, starting with "The First Man in Rome"

    "Roma" by Steven Saylor is a popular fictional overview of the period.

    "The Light Bearer" by Donna Gillespie contrasts Nero's Rome with the Germanic peoples.

    "Memoirs of Hadrian" by Margeret Yourcenar is considered a classic.
