The thought pleased the good cobbler very much.

The good cobbler was pleased by the thought

Please (v.t.) My good scores in school pleased my father.

My father was pleased by my good scores in school.

My good scores in school were pleasing to my father.

The thought pleased the good cobbler very much.

The good cobbler was pleased by the thought very much.

The good thought was pleasing to the good cobbler very much. 類似的動詞還有許多,to surprise, excite, interest, bore, fascinate, amaze, devastate…

What she treated me touched me a lot.

I was touched by what she treated me a lot.
