Is San Ysidro, Ca. a good place to rent a room for the night?
I'm taking my family to San Diego Labor day weekend, all that is available, that is within our budget is in San Ysidro.

So far, not a bad choice for a short stay.
But I should remind you that this community is close to the US-Mexico boarder, with the safe concerns, I suggest you not to stay this area if you have better choices.
You have not mentioned anything about your budget, but I know that there are plenty of cheap or budget hotels, motels and inns throughout San Diego. So why do you go ahead with San Ysidro?
As you go to San Diego for Labor Day weekend, my idea is staying close to downtown San Diego or Balboa Park. During the weekend, there must be a variety of activities, events and celebrations in those areas. Staying nearby will save you from possible traffic jams. Dozens of budget hotel chains, such as Extended Stay America, Best Western, Super 8 and Travelodge, have properties nearby. If you think my words are reasonable, here is a website which can help you find satisfactory hotels throughout San Diego.
Happy Labor Day weekend lol

San Ysidro isn't a terrible place to stay but by no means is the best, I would try the Days Inn or Motel 6 in Chula Vista they are far enough away from the border and are relatively quiet even though the Motel 6 can be a little sketchy. If you do stay in San Ysidro avoid San Ysidro Blvd late at night that street can get scary!!

Try Motel 6 or Days Inn in Chula Vista www.motel6.com www.daysinn.com. In San Ysidro visit shopping center http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?i...

Only if you want your car stolen
Try North County cities like Escondido, Vista, San Marcos, or Calsbad.
Just as close to San Diego and much safer
