The use of stem cells from unused... show more There is increasing evidence that the adult brain is able to produce new neurons from experience and possibly from undifferentiated cells known as stem cells. In some species stem cells have been observed to develop into additional neurons in a few brain areas after infancy. The use of stem cells from unused embryos has been proposed by members of the scientific and medical communities as a means of curing neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson’s. Do you support embryonic stem cell research (of embryos that would otherwise be thrown away)? Why or why not?
