Start putting the lid on the bin. Or put your bin in a cupboard.

We do not need a lid for our trash. I can lay a raw steak on the top of my garbage and go to bed; the steak will still be there in the morning even though the dog & 2 cats have free access to it.

While dogs have been eating our garbage for over 20,000 years it is relatively easy to train them to keep out of it.

Get a sturdy garbage can with a lid, like a metal one. Also, you can put weights or bricks in the bottom to prevent the dog from tipping it over.

Keep the trash somewhere where she can't get to it, out of her reach and you should not have any problems with her getting in the garbage.

You need to train your dog. And even though she eats her food, doesn't mean there are better things in the garbage. (not actually better, but you know what I mean).

You definitely need to keep the trash out of her reach. She may eat something toxic or something that causes a deadly bowel obstruction.
