Does having a convicted criminal that just got out of jail count as child endangerment in Texas?

If the convicted criminal was convicted of a non-violent crime there would be no basis to believe or argue the person was a danger to a child.

Yes, bringing an unrelated convicted criminal into your home does count as child endangerment, especially if he is a sex offender. For example, hiring a person with a known history of sexual offenses as a childcare provider is a felony offense in Texas, punishable by up to 20 years' incarceration.
