Quite official, and not "is ending", but "has ended".

The last shuttle mission, STS-135, landed on July 21.

NASA has already ended the shuttle program with the last flight. All Shuttles have been retired.

Yes. The shuttles are now 30 years old, and have become expensive and dangerous to operate. There are safer and less expensive ways to get humans to and from the International Space Station, mainly the Russian Soyuz program. This frees up NASA to spend their limited budget on the missions they do best: unmanned probes to explore the solar system.

    Yes, it had been canceled.

But the debate of the wisdom of ending it has just begun.

    ya, its done.

in my opinion, it is time for it to end.

NASA should start worrying about building a faster better space craft like x-33 and getting to mars (with astronauts)
