How do I fix my Nikon L110 lens?

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. It's saying that there is a lens error and that I need to take the lens cap off. With that being done, it's still saying there's the error. The lens is stalling to come out and I can't get it to work. What do I do?

You do not have the skills, tools, parts, and calibration software to repair your camera. You need to contact Nikon at 1-800-NIKON-UX (1-800-645-6689)

    Then:

    1) Send it to the manufacturer and request a repair estimate

    2) Once you get the estimate and get over the price shock, go out and buy a new camera

    3) Make sure you keep the camera in its protective case anytime you are not using it (and always use the wrist strap when you are holding it).

Before going to buy a new one, it won't hurt to give the following a try:
