Would a Rick Perry presidency be Dubya Bush on steroids?
Chris: Wrong, I'm basing it on his past record of his extreme views of hatred of federal government regulations. Dubya Bush eliminated regulations which helped crash the economy. Perry would appear to be worse.

Yes. Secessionist Texas Governor Rick Perry has stood against hardworking Texans from his initial arrival in the Governor’s Office. Texans HATE him! From the murder of an innocent man, to extremely high homeowner and health care insurance rates; skyrocketing college tuition and forcing eminent domain to grab Texans’ land, puts Perry as the worst Republican to lead Texas in recent history.
Texans pay the highest homeowner insurance rates in the nation, an average annual premium of $1,409 per year, and nearly twice the national average of $804. (Source: Lubbock Avalanche-Journal)
Perry permitted the industry to double overnight the premiums paid by Texas homeowners and refused to rein in exorbitant rates from his biggest campaign contributors. (Source: Mcblogger.com)
A February 2009 survey showed that 85% of Texans supported regulation of the insurance industry – yet Rick Perry and Texas Republicans fought insurance reform efforts during the 2009 legislative session. (Source: Hill Research Consultants)
The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs – run by Perry’s hand-picked political appointees – has still, four years after Hurricane Rita, only distributed one-third of the reimbursements that Texas homeowners along the coast are due. (Source: Houston Chronicle)
March 2009 Rick Perry rejected $555 million in federal stimulus money that would have expanded unemployment benefits for Texans during Bush’s financial collapse.
Perry had to reverse this decision and ask the federal government for a $170 million loan with interest, so that benefits could get paid. (Source: Think Progress) In 2003 Perry also asked for this loan only one other time, in 2003.
Perry did not want to provide help to 45,000 out-of-work Texans including part-time employees like single mothers, college students and senior citizens. It would have avoided the unemployment insurance tax hike for all Texas businesses. Perry already increased taxes on businesses in February 2009 when he replaced the Franchise tax with the Margin tax, the first corporate income tax in the history of Texas. The Margin Tax IS an income tax on corporations. (Source: OpEdNews-John-Basel)

• Some Texans on fixed incomes are forced to choose between paying their electric bill and buying groceries. Meanwhile, money in the System Benefit Fund – which was created to help low-income families pay their utility bills – continues to be diverted away from its intended purpose. Since 2002, more than half of all the money collected for the System Benefit Fund has been spent on things other than reducing utility rates. (Source: Dallas Morning News)

He is a Fiscal Disaster. I posted a question about his extravagant spending on the shoulders of the taxpayers and he laughed and said let them complain. Unbelievably arrogant. Stupid. I can't believe he got up and laid the government on Jesus. Doesn't even remember that Jesus said Render unto. What a complete disaster he would be for this country. I can actually see him pushing the red button.
Really, read this link from a 2010 paper I dug up and tell me if that's not enough to put him away. The Treasonous sob
With the state facing a budget shortfall of at least $15 billion , Gov. Rick Perry has spent almost $600,000 in public money during the past two years to live in a sprawling rental home in the hills above the capital, according to records obtained by The Associated Press.
It costs more than $10,000 a month in rent, utilities and upkeep to house Perry in a five-bedroom, seven-bath mansion that has pecan-wood floors, a gourmet kitchen and three dining rooms. Perry has also spent $130,000 in campaign donations to throw parties, buy food and drink, and pay for cable TV and a host of other services since he moved in, the records show.
The public spending on Perry's rental comes as the state grapples with a budget shortfall forecast to reach at least $15 billion over the next two years.
"Anybody who is not offended probably doesn't know what's going on," said Rep. Jim Dunnam of Waco , the Texas House Democratic leader. To spend so much while asking state agencies to spend less, Dunnam said, is "just rank hypocrisy."
Perry dismissed such criticism with a laugh: "If that's the best cut anybody's got of leadership in the state of Texas, then bring it on."
Texas' longest-serving governor moved into his temporary home in the fall of 2007, leaving the two-story Governor's Mansion so it could undergo repairs. A still-unsolved arson wrecked the 1856 residence less than a year later, and officials say it will take another two years to finish its reconstruction.

Yes, Perry is genuinely despised in Texas, by Texans.
America, think before you vote. You have no idea what you are getting into supporting this C/D student.

Too scary to find out - just the sound of the accent makes me queasy.
His conducting a prayer meeting may attract Republicans, but it's not going to win many others.
