What do you think about Vaughan as a first name?

I like this name.. but i've never heard of it as a first name! What do you think? i'm due in 8 weeks w/ a boy and I am having a hard time finding a name.. Maybe Christopher as a middle name? whats your thoughts.

Update:

Not sure if you can read or not, but it sounds nothing like what you seem to think it does. It's pronounced v--aw--n

Update 2:

Any suggestions for another middle name are welcome..

Update 3:

Why do you think he would get made fun of? Whats wrong with the name? I guess I don't see whats so wrong with it?

    VAUGHN

    Gender: Masculine

    Usage: Welsh, English

    Pronounced: VAWN

From a Welsh surname which was derived from Welsh bychan meaning "little".

    Vaughan is a variant spelling.

I really like the name but prefer the traditional spelling of Vaughn.

With the extra "A", it looks like it ought to be pronounced as VAW-han - 2 syllables)

I'm not fond of one-syllable names as first names bcs they are so limiting.

The classic nns always add the "ee" sound to a name and Vaughny just sounds/looks weird.

Since the year 2000, Vaughn has ranked anywhere from 738 to 956.

With such a distinctive and uncommon Welsh name, I'd consider using another Welsh name:

    Alan Vaughn

    Ellis Vaughn

    Owen Vaughn

    Roderick Vaughn

    Other names I'd like:

    Conall Vaughn

    Connor Vaughn

    Corbin Vaughn

    Elliott Vaughn

    Garrett Vaughn

    Gregory Vaughn

    Kieran Vaughn

    Orrin Vaughn

    Tobias Vaughn

    Torin Vaughn

Good luck and ignore the dolts who can't figure out how to spell/pronounce simple names.

Why is your instructor asking you to %. out names for her? it is extremely extraordinary. i do no longer think of you will get a lot help from right here, because certainly everyone seems to be suggesting the names Kate Jane and Ruth for a son's call.

vaughan as a middle name only and even then id hesitate

if you give him that name as a first name you might as well tease him yourself

I kind of like it... But I think "Christopher Vaughan" sounds better.

"Vaughan Christopher" sounds really weird......I don't like it at all.

The only Vaughan I know is a talented drummer, guitarist, artist, and teacher with a beautiful wife. Seems like a good name to me.

It sounds like a vampire name. I like it but not for a child.

Nope. Middle name. You love your child, don't you? Spare him.
