Is the FDA controlled by pharmaceutical companies?

It might look that way to the untrained outsider, but in fact the FDA is in strict control of drug companies, but ONLY those companies and offices inside the United States.
The FDA can (and has!) stepped in to take control of drug companies who have had poor manufacturing or legal practices. The FDA has total power to control and even shut down any drug company in the United States.
The FDA controls only American companies and sales centers. Other countries have their own legal channels such as NICE in England or CHMP in Germany.
ALL the drug companies have Political Action Committees (PACs), but these are used to affect CONGRESS, not the FDA. PAC's and Congress are a MUCH more serious problem than Drug Companies and the FDA.
