Are dirt bikes really really dangerous?
- Candid ChrisLv 79 years agoFavorite Answer
Raced for close to 45 years on dirt-bikes, seen some pretty gnarly sh!t happen, bits of it happened to me on occasion.
But with the right protective gear and a relatively sane mind behind the bars it's like any other highly physical sport, things happen!
A 'Danger' sign means 'Caution' and that should be understood.
'Really dangerous'?!? - not REALLY!
And still a LOT OF FUN!Source(s): My $.02 worth.

Yes and no, as with everything it's how you ride. If you ride like an idiot, then yes dirt bike are very dangerous. However dirt bikes can be very safe. They do make small bikes that a 5 year old can ride. Even tho those Kidd dirt bikes don't go that fast, they still go fast enough to kill.

The motocross 125s and smaller are not too bad, but the liquid cooled 250 2 strokes have some serious go, they can be dangerous if you are not ridding on a track. The safe part is you won't collide with a car.

airborne dirt and airborne dirt and mud motorcycles are actually not risky. Its the guy using it who's the risky one, and what your doing. Now definite there are specific issues you cant ward off alongside with a rut or a stump which you would be able to accidentually hit yet those arent very risky. in basic terms bear in strategies, be secure, and you shouldnt have plenty to be concerned approximately. yet in basic terms bear in strategies there are continuously damaging aspects to something and experience at your individual hazard.

A dirtbike has never been sitting on its kick stand and jumped up and killed anyone. Its all in how you use it, you could kill yourself with one but thats true of everything and no reason to keep yourself from enjoying life.

Yes certainly dangerous. Thats the fun part. If you are too worried, check into knitting or basket weaving. Those are much safer.

No not really. If you act like a moron while riding one, you could get hurt.

it's not the bike... it's the nut behind the handlebars.
