Why didn't the GOP controlled Congress Pass the Balance Budget Amendment When Bush was in Office??

In years Under the Bush Administration they could have passed this Amendment.

Why didn't They???

Why all of a sudden when Obama comes President do they want to pass it??

Plz Explain???

    Because back then, their buddies' companies were awarded no-bid military service (mercenary) contracts in Iraq.

    Now, that sort of spending is not likely to happen. So, they're pissed about the kind of spending that IS happening.

    They're not really mad about spending, per se. Just mad that the spending isn't lining THEIR pockets.

    Why under the Bush administration did Senator Obama not want to raise the debt ceiling?

    Plus, the Democrats took control of both houses of congress in 2006.

    Because they knew to do so would limit Bush Jr ability to start two unfunded wars for oil and would deeply hurt their corporate leaches waiting for their entitlements.

    Because they knew that they could not balance it, while there was military action going on in Iraq, & Afghanistan.
