A week Visit to Melbourne - Aug 24-31 What to do here? Where to go?
I need suggestion and recommendation of places to visit during the week day and night. No specific budget, no limit. I just want my family to see what melbourne has to offer. Thank you!

royal exhibition building & gardens - a world heritage site
cooks cottage in the fitzroy gardens
alexandra gardens, domain parklands, floral clock, government house, botanical gardens, music bowl
st kilda - pier, foreshore, luna park, restaurants etc, penguins?
lygon street carlton - italian precinct, restaurants etc
old melbourne gaol
queen victoria market - largest open air market in the southern hemisphere (try a hot jam donut from the donut van)
sydney road brunswick and coburg - shopping, turkish restaurants, etc
royal melbourne zoo - located in yet another giant parkland, royal park
explore the laneways of the cbd - restaurants, shopping, bars, street art
see some grand architecture - forum theatre, princess theatre (see a show?), windsor hotel, parliament house, treasury building
go to the tutenkaman exhibition - the items will never leave egypt again
national gallery of victoria
puffing billy - ride a steam train through the temperate rain forest
penguin parade - world famous phillip island penguin parade
the fairy lights in the trees of st kilda road at night, & the promenade along the yarra river outside crown entertainment precinct
go to an australian rules football game - if the weather is fine go so the mcg to see hawthorn vs the western bulldogs on saturday august 27, or go to docklands stadium on saturday night or sunday afternoon
visit the sports museum at the mcg
ride the city circle tourist tram
go to la porchetta pizza restaurant in rathdowne street carlton
visit the skydeck at eureka tower
visit sovereign hill ballarat
