In my country & during my growing years, we were called "slackers" & "good-for-nothings" ;-p
Comics were meant solely for leisure time. However, we did always manage to sneak some between our books & continue reading ! That's why Archie Digests were preferred - smaller in size ;-D
And anybody who didn't get caught was always a 'hero' - someone to learn from - Cool, eh?!
I'm 47 & still love a good comic. My favorites are/remain Asterix , Dennis the Menace , Amar Chitra Katha [Indian mythology in comic form !], Garfield, And the MAD Magazine [if one can call it a 'comic']. Enjoy the occasional Archie too.
I still turn to the cartoon pages in my newspapers daily & enjoy the various strips. Never miss these, even if I don't have time to go thru the entire papers ! "Thatababy" , "Friends", "Hagar the Horrible", ....
