You hear right wingers scream "communism killed a hundred million people" all the time. What they dont know is that using the same historiography they're using to justify that communism killed 100 million people, one could easily count 200 million deaths of capitalism in all it's guises, including Colonialism, Nazism, Facism, and American backed anti Socialist movements.

Interesting. I would have to contest some of your estimates and also point out that if you claim these deaths are attributed to capitalism then at least some of the wars, such as the Korean War or Spanish Civil War, had two sides to those conflicts and it was generally considered a contest between fascism (for the Spanish Civil War) and communism and not capitalism against something else and Democracy vs. Hereditary Feudalism (though called Communism) in North Korea.

Clearly though some of your figures can be attributed to capitalism, such as cigarette deaths or the Union Carbide Bophal Disaster.

    Japanese Massacre of Singapore 100,000

    Burma-Siam Railroad Construction 116,000

Japanese Germ Warfare in China 200,000

    Nanking Massacre 300,000

all had to do with Japanese conquest, racism and glory. not making a buck

    US Bombing of Yugoslavia 300,000

So were we suppose to just let the serbs annihlate the ethnic albanians?

    US Civil War 700,000

    States Rights' laced with racism

    US sanctions on Iraq 1,000,000

Hussein could have opened up his doors and confessed he had no nukes at any time. Capitalism had nothing to do with it. this was power plain and simple

    Famine of 1932-33 7,000,000

You can blame ol' comrade stalin for this one

US Intervention in the Congo 5,000,000

US sent troops into the Congo? I'd like to see the source on this one. No really, It's not that I don't believe you. I've just never heard of it.

    Stateless Capitalist Somalia 1,000,000

In governmentless societies, the barter system tends to be the prevailing economy

    Feudal Russia 1,066,000

Feudalism is a system based on allegeiance to a landowner. Capitalism is where you take out a loan and pay it back as you go.

    Korean War 10,000,000

Sorry, but the Communists started that one

    Nigerian Civil War 1,000,000

    Rwandan Genocide 1,000,000

    racism started both of these

    US Made Famine Bangladesh 100,000

    Ciggarette Related Deaths Worldwide (1960 - 2010) 300,000,000

In this case Its difficult to differentiate between genocide and stupid decisions.

Most of your statistics are grossly overestimated. For example, There wasn't more than 20 million native americans in both North and South America (and I'm probably grossly overestimating) when Columbus showed up and most of those died off in the first 100 years of spanish colonization.

You also make mention of The palestinians killed but no mention of the Holocaust. Need to be careful. Someone might think you were anti-semitic.

The point is that no single economic system is inherently evil, its what is done with it that gives it a bad rep.

The Spanish Civil war had nothing to do with Capitalism

And i think you forgot the Civil wars in Central America created by Reagan in the 1980's

Don't forget Nixon's war in Chile where Milton Friedman instituted his economic policies which devastated the entire economy. Those policies could only be enacted under military dictatorship.

People blindly support capitalism like it is some sort of Religion, it is highly dogmatic. I support capitalism, but I at least understand its shortcomings. That is the only to see it to its full potential. Right wing policies have only destroyed capitalism's potential.

wrong. Capitalism is not even real. There is no theory of capitalism. There are no laws of capitalism. No one wrote a book on the rules of capitalism.

The only people who wrote books about capitalism were communists. So they are biased.

If you were in a group of 40 cave-men and cave-women completely isolated from any modernity... you would automatically tend to focuse on working towards family and production and survival... communism would force you into un-natural and hateful roles.

you know even if I do not believe 3/4 of your stats, at least those deaths were related to fighting for a cause, having millions die of starvation over the ambitions of the leadership is unforgivable.

Lastly it seems you are trying to attribute many deaths to failed governments (mostly communist and socialist not Capitalist). Now post something similar about muslims so we can laugh at you and call you a liar.

  • I see you haven't removed the ones you already know to be false.

Now that you've PROVED your dishonesty, some MORE examples are in order to show others what you already KNOW:

    > Famine of 1932-33 - the time our economy was MOST CONTROLLED by our central government.

    > Famine in British India - a centrally-planned economy

    > Bombing Iraq - done by GOVERNMENT, not by "capitalism."

    > Children Died fr Hunger ONLY in places where capitalism is prohibited.

    > Bombing of Yugoslavia - done by GOVERNMENT, not by "capitalism" and it was expressly done to protect Islamo-fascists FROM capitalists.

    > "Stateless" Somalia is NOT capitalist, nor is it stateless. It's feudal.

Source(s): Liar, liar, pants on fire.

That's all? We are not getting our moneys worth. When my tax dollars are going to killing folks, I expect a higher "Kill per Dollar" ratio.

Gotta give the commies credit, they killer about 10 times this number at half the cost.
