    An ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is a way to identify books. You can search library catalogs and book stores with that number to make sure you have the correct edition.

    However, the ISBN alone will not give the value of an old book. That has to do with the condition of the book and how rare it is. Some books are not valuable when they are old because the information is out of date. And other things like autographs can affect the value.
