Langkawi,Tioman,Redang or Perhentian islands?

We are a group of young people and we will fly to Malaysia in August. We will spend 3 nights in Singapore,3 nights in Kuala Lumbur and we also want to spend 6 nights in a paradise island but we cannot decide which one. The problem is that we like to go to touristy places and sightseeing, have things to do and enjoy at nights but I have read many reviews for Langkawi that is not actually a paradise island. We like clean and nice white beaches where we can go for snorkelling and also relax for a couple of days. Tioman,Redang and Perhentian islands look much more beautiful at pics but we are worried about our transportation there also being trapped with nothing to do on the islands. We are confused and cannot decide which island offers the best paradise beaches but also have some nightlife and things to do. Can you suggest which island is the best for us or maybe a combination of 2 islands?

    Hi there,

I'd definitely recommend Perhentian Islands, probably the small one, though the big one is just close by anyways. I'm actually sitting here right now ;)

I came about a month ago, stayed over 2 weeks - I thought I'd be here for 3-4 days but then started diving, met some great people and loved the vibe of the island. I decided to come back a week ago and I think I might stay a while. I've heard Redang is also very nice, but then it depends on your budget, I've looked at it and it is a lot more expensive (like about 4 times the prices for rooms in Perhentian on average), and lot of honeymooners, whether Perhentian has a good mix of backpackers, families and friends on friends on holidays.

It's small though not packed at all, snorkeling is great and diving is brilliant - one of the cheapest places to get your open water certification if ever you're interested. Nightlife happens on one of the beach bars, most active between like 11pm and 4am or so - though if you're not there you'd have no idea, the rest of the island is super calm, so you can have both.

I've been to Langkawi, it's nowhere near as nice - worth going for the hilltop cable car and duty free shopping, apart from that, fairly limited - though apparently there are some other nice places inland I haven't gotten to. I haven't been to Tioman, I heard it was nice but not as nice as Perhentian, according to the people I've talked to here.

If you need pointers for hotels or places to dive, don't hesitate.

Skip Langkawi and Tioman. Redang-clear blue sea, great for scuba diving. Perhentian Islands-more activities for the young at heart. Redang, there isn't much to do for activities. Perhentian Islands-definitely has more to offer.

I suggest you go to Redang and Perhentian Island. This 2 Island is close to each another and are in the same state in Malaysia. Both are located in Terengganu of Malaysia.

I found below website and it might be helpful for your travel plan planning:-
