英文文法 there was 還是 there were

There was a lot of fish in the pond before.

還是There were a lot of fish in the pond before.

Update:

___________a lot of fish in the pond before.

(B)There was (D)There were

Update 2:

不過答案好像寫B(我不確定有沒有改錯)

There were a lot of fish in the pond before. Fish is my favorite food.

    1. There are many kinds of fishes in the pond.

    2. There are many fish in the pond.

    3. There are many fishes in the pond.

A lot of fish are caught in the net.A lot of fish are still alive after the draught. There are (were) a lot of fish in the pond.

    Dear Host,

There ''were''(複數) a lot of fish( 如果有很多種魚, 用 ''fishes'') in the pond before.

Fish is both 單數 和 複數
