I only remember having bloody show with one baby. most of the time I would lose my plug in pieces. Only had one come out in one piece. I did have that baby within 24 hours. The rest of my babies just took their sweet time deciding it was time to come.
the cramping is actually a good sign. It's going to be tempting to stay up waiting. GO TO BED!!! You are going to need lots of rest for the labor coming. Besides, it's likely you will go into labor in the middle of the night. When I had my 6th baby, I went to bed at 11pm. My midwife stripped my membranes and my plug came out. i woke up really hungry at 4am. had a snack and my contractions started 30 minutes later. Just rest though.
If you don't wake up in labor, remember that a watched pot doesn't boil. Find stuff to occupy your time and not think about baby. I know, easier said than done. Been there. go to a movie. Lose yourself in a good book. anything. Try going for a good walk, that will encourage baby to come down and put pressure on your cervix. Oh, and don't forget that anything you feel right now is doing something to help you in labor. You're progressing and getting so close. hang in there.
